International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Certified Arborist on Staff
An arborist by definition is an individual who is trained in the art and science of planting, caring for, and maintaining individual trees. ISA arborist certification is a nongovernmental, voluntary process by which individuals can document their base of knowledge. Certified Arborists are individuals who have achieved a level of knowledge in the art and science of tree care through experience and by passing a comprehensive examination developed by some of the nation's leading experts on tree care. Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA)
Established in 1938, the Tree Care Industry Association is a trade association of more than 2,000 commercial tree care firms and affiliated companies. TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice, and management information for arboriculture firms around the world.
Connecticut Tree Protective Association (CTPA)
The Connecticut Tree Protective Association is an educational association dedicated to advancing the care of Connecticut's trees. The CTPA accomplishes its purpose through educational events, regular workshops, outreach and publicity and through the example provided by our membership.
Norwalk Tree Alliance (NTA)
The Norwalk Tree Alliance is a volunteer, nonprofit organization that is actively engaged within the community to initiate and support programs that promote healthy trees and urban forest. NTA's mission is to promote and protect the urban forest of Norwalk, Connecticut, through education and advocacy that will broaden community understanding of the value of our forest and inspire commitment to its preservation and expansion.
New Canaan Chamber of Commerce
The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce has close to 400 members and promotes and advocates for local businesses. The Chamber provides New Canaan residents and business owners with up-to-date knowledge of everything New Canaan has to offer. The character and purpose of the New Canaan Chamber has always been determined by the needs and requirements of the business district as well as local nonprofits and residents.
